How does Lagaviti work?
Ease of use and the quality of legal reasoning and solutions are at the forefront of Lagaviti’s development.
You can use Lagaviti in the environment that suits you best at any given time, whether on the web or in Microsoft Word. Lagaviti assists you in resolving legal tasks by compiling legal arguments with references to relevant sources of law, providing built-in quality control through analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of its own responses, evaluataing arguments for and against a given position, and assessing whether alternative conclusions are legally viable. It also offers easy access to the specific provisions of the relevant legal sources that are cited. You can then continue the dialogue, modify assumptions, ask Lagaviti to examine specific issues in greater detail, and so on. Lagaviti therefore works with you from start to finish; however, responsibility for the assumptions underlying the queries and for the final outcome always rests, of course, with you.
The solution is built on carefully selected artificial intelligence components that have been specifically adapted to the Icelandic legal environment. Significant effort has been devoted to ensuring that Lagaviti delivers results in clear and well-crafted Icelandic and that its reasoning is grounded in Icelandic legal methodology and Icelandic legal tradition.
LAGAVITI IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS
GENERAL PART
In the general section, Lagaviti applies legal methodology and delivers answers based entirely on legal sources in its database (over 300,000 source documents).
Lagaviti does not learn from user conversations, and they are not used for other users.
Users can upload and query documents in the most common formats (Word, PDF, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Users also benefit from the core functionality of Agentic Workflows, Legal Genome, Specialized Agents, and Workflows, as well as integration with Word and Lagaviti’s language capabilities.
SPECIAL PART
In the Special Part, Lagaviti is deployed within the client’s operating environment, following a dedicated implementation process led by system and security administrators. This enables Lagaviti to be connected to the client’s own information and documents via SharePoint, as well as to the client’s email through Outlook.
In the Special Part, Lagaviti can work with and create working documents based on templates defined by the subscriber or individual users. In addition, enhanced and deeper functionality is available across agent workflows, knowledge graph, built-in specialists, workflows, and integration with Word.
The best integration is therefore achieved when the Special Part and the General Part work together as a single, unified solution to address a specific legal matter.
Internal
quality checks
Lagaviti performs internal quality checks for every response. As part of its analysis, Lagaviti highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the answer, presents arguments for and against a given conclusion, and indicates whether more than one conclusion is legally viable.
Agentic Workflow
Lagaviti provides suggestions on how to address your query to ensure focused and efficient processing in line with your needs.
Legal Genome
Lagaviti has access to the entire legislative history and can identify the connections between all Icelandic (and a selection of foreign) legal sources (a “network of relationships”), which greatly reduces the risk of hallucinations and incorrect answers. Lagaviti can also determine what the legal position was at any given point in time (“time travel”) and is therefore not limited to current law.
Specialized Agents
Lagaviti has built-in experts (“Specialized Agents”) that know what needs to be emphasized when addressing specific areas of law.
User Workflows
Lagaviti can adapt to your specific needs. You set up any workflows you require, and Lagaviti follows what is appropriate in each case.
Word
Lagaviti can review documents and provide reasoned suggested edits in Word. Approved changes appear in the correct place in the document using “Track Changes.”
Languages
Lagaviti reads any foreign documents and legal sources and translates them into any native language in its responses.
